This is an incredible collectors item! It is an original mourning brooch from the Victorian era with amazing hair artwork.
It is truly wonderful to gaze upon and a real Victorian curios with real human hair neatly braided behind the glass. The hair artwork is so finely created you have to look so closely to see it is all made from actual hair. It includes small seed pearls and gold thread to create an amazing work of art. The gold is marked 9ct on the back/side. Please check photos, I've tried my best to show as much detail as possible but I still don't think the photos do it justice. 
On the back there is a clear glass section possibly for a photo but looking closely seems to be either very finely woven hair or a piece of material behind the glass. There is a c clasp in good condition and a longer pin which indicates early Victorian or Georgian eras. The gold is marked 9ct on the back/side 
This would be a wonderful edition to any collection and a must have item for any Victorian curio fan!

These pieces of jewellery will be antique or vintage, and it is rare to find two the same. Because they are old treasures, they will have some light wear as expected with pieces of age, history and stories to tell. I try to clean pieces sympathetically so as not to over polish and to retain some of their vintage authenticity. So it is always advisable to check the photos for more details on each piece. Once an item is gone, it's gone!
