This is such a gorgeous brooch. It is a modernist piece of artwork by Avi Soffer.
Avi Soffer is an Israeli artist jewellery designer that was trained in both Israel and Denmark. As such you can see a lot of different influences in his work over the decades.
He often uses multiple techniques and elements in each piece. This brooch has hand wrought sterling silver in a modernist design with a highly polished hematite stone in contrast.
Very beautiful and unique piece.
It is marked by the artist on the back with Avi Soffer and 925 for sterling silver. It also has hallmarks on the side loop that could be used for a chain, turning the brooch into a pendant for a necklace.
