This is a beautiful gold ring with a very large smoky quartz gemstone.
The smoky quartz is sometimes referred to as a Cairngorm quartz as a certain type is found in Scotland and used in much of their jewellery, especially during the Victorian era.
The stone is in lovely condition and is set within four gold claws. It is fully hallmarked for 9ct gold including the makers initials MSG and assay marks for London circa 1961.
