This is a wonderful piece of Victorian curios jewellery dating to the 1800s A real collectors item!
It is a original Victorian Albert Watch Chain carefully made from braided hair. It is amazing craftsmanship and in wonderful condition.
Hair art was a Victorian obsession and made from the hair of a loved one not just for mourning but also as a show of affection and sentimentality.
There are three lengths of woven hair with lovely rolled rose gold fittings on each end. The fittings have a fauna etched design and there is a t-bar two thirds of the way down. There is a dog clip on one end and a beautiful swivel fob on the other.
The fob spins around to show bloodstone on one side and vibrant carnelian stone on the other. It has a makers mark along the edge that looks to read T&H It is rare to find such an amazing piece with the braided hair in such good condition but with obvious age related wear.
