This is a beautiful gold ring with a very large smoky quartz gemstone, sometimes referred to as a Cairngorm quartz as a certain type is found in Scotland and used in much of their jewellery, especially during the Victorian era.
The stone is in lovely condition and is set within four double gold claws. and wonderfully ornate shoulders.
It is fab condition considering it dates to the 1960s and is fully hallmarked for 9ct gold including the makers initials W&G and 9.375 (for 9ct) with Birmingham assay marks for circa 1966 .
The ring is a fantastic weight at approximately 6.7g and the size is approximately UK size K which is equivalent to US size 5.25, please refer to the photo of the ring on the ring sizer for more specific details, thanks.
