This is a beautiful vintage 9ct gold ring.
The ring has a large oval cabochon Moss agate gemstone. The naturally occurring gemstone is approximately 18mm x 13mm and has a beautiful 9ct gold twisted rope setting.
This particular moss agate stone looks other worldly with deep blood orange colouring and dark moss green swirls.
I am a little obsessed with Moss agate, it is one of my favourite gemstones. I find myself mesmerised by them.
I am so please to have found this beauty as it is rare to find old gold rings with Moss agate gemstones. This ring and has full hallmarks, including a crown and 375 (for 9ct gold) and Birmingham assay marks for circa 1979. The ring is a great weight at approximately 3.4g and is approximately UK size Q (equivalent to a US size 8), but please have a look at the photo of the ring on the ring sizer for more accurate measurements, thanks.
This really is a rare and fantastic piece of jewellery with history!
