This is a stunning large silver locket. It is an oval shape with a wonderful aesthetic design engraved on the front and monogram initials on the back (look like PJ).
There are full readable hallmarks for sterling silver on the back including the makers mark B&L for Blanckensee & Levetus and assayed for Birmingham circa 1876. Inside there are deep red velvet inserts and it shuts nice and securely.
It comes suspended on a more modern 20" sterling silver belcher chain.
This is a very old antique piece and is in good condition but does have a few light dings so please see photos for more details, thanks.
