This is a lovely penannular brooch by Robert Allison.
It has nice detailed Celtic design all the way around and a cross pin with the top also brandishing a Celtic knot.
The design is a traditional shawl scarf pin. It is fully hallmarked for sterling silver on the reverse including RA (for Robert Allison) and hallmarks for Glasgow circa 1958 and has been engraved on the back as a Memorial award for Melville Collier in 1961.
