This is a very pretty brooch from the Victorian era but it could be earlier.
The brooch has a lovely central star which is made up of small seed pearls and a tiny ruby stone in the centre. The decoration is lovely and it is in good condition.
It is a rose gold colouring and is marked on the back 9ct for 9ct gold. The reverse of the brooch has a c clasp and a small secret window which looks to hold a small piece of woven hair under glass.
This was common for either mourning pieces of jewellery or could be a sweetheart brooch. Please have a look at the photos for more details. This is quite beautiful.
