This is a wonderful Victorian open glass photo locket.
It is double sided with glass covering to both sides. Under the glass are old antique photos of a lady and a gentlemen but these can easily be replaced.
The gold casing is 9ct gold and has full readable hallmarks including the makers initials JWA and 9.375 (for 9ct gold) and a date mark which I believe date it to 1887. It comes suspended on amore modern delicate 9ct gold chain measuring 20".
Often these photo fobs were mourning pieces during the Georgian and Victorian eras. They are becoming rarer and especially in good condition.
This one has a wonderful ornate bale but this has bent so please check the photos for more details, thanks.
